Ken Barker

Originally from the UK Ken studied at Southampton College of Art. He is an artist who creates rich textures using collage and acrylic paints on both paper and canvas. Ken combined his passion for art with a career as one of Australia’s leading freelance textile designers. From 1994 he has concentrated on establishing himself as a full time artist.

Artists Statement

“For me, art is both a visual and spiritual experience. 

My art reflects life with its basic structure, interrupted by the unexpected and spontaneous happenings of life. 

I am interested in textures of rocks and surfaces of weather beaten walls with peeling paint, and graffiti. These walls are silent witnesses of the past and canvasses of the future.”
