Born in Sydney NSW Liz Duguid is a painter of landscapes and flowers in oils, acrylic and mixed media. "Colour is the vital key to my work. Through colour I endeavour to capture the lifeforce of my environs with spontaneity and energy using all media"
Elizabeth graduated with a degree in Art from the Tasmanian College of Art in 1962. and during a highly successful painting career, she has won over 45 prizes in Major Art Awards and is represented in more than 40 important art collections throughout Australia. This is complimented by many years art teaching, adults and children at University, Art Colleges, TAFE Schools, Seminars and privately in NSW, QLD, and Tasmania.
In 2000 she was amongst 200 high profile Australians from all walks of life, invited to ‘Paint a Picture for St Pat's, to assist the Cathedral restoration fundraising appeal.
In 1986 as Artist in Residence with the Albert Shire Council she worked at capturing the diversity of the Shire on paper. As well, she was involved in the design, organisation and presentation of Community project to help foster community awareness, personal pride, and individual and group involvement in creative endeavour. This involvement with community art is an ongoing commitment.
During 1995 Elizabeth was selected to be one of the artists privileged to spend time painting at Arthur Boyd's Historic New South Wakes property ‘Riverdale' part of the Bundanon Trust. In 1996 she was asked to be mentor for the Sunshine Coast University.
Like a good wine she is getting better with maturity.
