Born in New Zealand.  Studied at The Ilam School of Art New Zealand, the Chelsea School of Art London England, and in New York USA.

This is the work of a contemporary painter whose years of study and practice are reflected in flowing paintings with exceptionally clear glowing colours.

A great passion for life and her strong belief in the interconnectedness of all things and their relationship to the energy of the earth vibrates through Valarie's work. Her extensive study, travel and life experience are the basis of her work.

She has exhibited in London, Toronto, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and the Sunshine Coast Queensland. Her work has been shown in a number of prominent galleries in Melbourne and country Victoria including the Libby Edwards Gallery in South Yarra, Noels Gallery Red Hill, The Convent Gallery Daylesford and the Melaleuca Gallery at Anglesea. Since moving to Buderim she has exhibited her work at the Hart Galleries in Mooloolaba and in Noosa. In 2002 she had a successful exhibition at the Hyatt Coolum gallery at the time of CHOGAM. On the coast works have also been exhibited at the Francis Reilly Gallery at Eumundi and at the Tony Gill Gallery in Montville. In Brisbane work has been shown at The Galloways gallery and The Celestial Gallery. Her work is also sold in Sydney and Melbourne. Her paintings are in collections in Australia and overseas.

Artist's statement "Colour is the vital key in my work. Through colour I endeavour to capture the life force of my environs with spontaneity and energy. I believe in the interconnectedness of all things. I hope the viewer will sense and share the depth of love for the subject that I put into each creation."
